Karl-May festival in Bad SegebergTitles such as “Im Tal des Todes” and “Der Schatz im Silbersee” awaken memories and entice us into the Wild West – which lies in Bad Segeberg, only around 40 kilometres from Timmendorfer Strand and Niendorf and/or from the Strandhotel LUV by the Baltic Sea. Every year in the summer months, the famous Karl-May Plays are staged at the open-air Bad Segeberger Freilichttheater. The festival offers excellently choreographed action with explosions, shoot-outs and stunts. Since 2013, Jan Sosniok has been in the saddle as Winnetou. As a worthy successor of Pierre Brice, Gojko Mitić and Erol Sander, he plays the role with boldness and verve. The audience thanks him for this: every year new visitor records are broken.
